The old church in Hope is nestled in the Strong Creek drainage along the south facing shoreline of Lake Pend Oreille. The site surrounding the old church is blessed with numerous micro-climates due in part to southern exposure and Strong Creek. These micro-climates lend the site perfectly to displays of north Idaho native flora.

With the mountains as a protective backdrop to the north and the temperate lake as a solar reflector it is easy to understand why the area is known locally as the banana belt.

There is a network of trails and benches on the site that allow easy enjoyment of the extensive local native plantings, as well as the active year-round stream.

Enjoy your stroll of the grounds, and join the Lockwoods in their spirit of stewardship.
